SUMMER STAFF APPLICATION

At Judson Retreat, all Summer Staff is cross trained to help with every aspect of the day to day running of the camp (including cleaning, maintenance, kitchen, etc.). Summer Staff must be at least 18 years old by June 1st. Staff must be available from the Weekend before Memorial Day to the first week of August.  Each summer staffer will be trained to lead in multiple ways which may include any of the following areas.

  • Cabin Counselor: Oversee the daily schedule of the cabin, ensuring that the campers are where they need to be at all times.  
     

  • Marketing Intern: Oversee and participate in the capture and edit of still image/video for the summer camps as well as making daily social media post
     

  • .Lifeguard: Must have current certification. If you need to obtain a certification, training will be made available at an additional cost.
     

  • Ropes Course: Assist with low course (must be at least 18 years old by June 1st and have current certification - training will be provided).
     

  • Missions Study Leader: Lead campers in a study of a historic missionary, including activities to to teach them the importance of missions and taking the Gospel to the lost.
     

  • Recreation Leader: Lead campers in recreation activities that will engage their bodies and minds and provide debriefing opportunities to teach Biblical Truth.

 

Counselor In Training (CIT)

At Judson Retreat we have a rich history of former campers wanting to become summer staff.  We love having former campers come back and serve on summer staff, and serving as a Counselor In Training (CIT) is a great way to bridge the gap from camper to staffer.  CITs serve a vital role in our camp's ministry, but it is not a paid summer staff position.  Below are some of the important things to know about becoming a CIT.

CIT positions are available for both males and females.

CIT must have completed 10th Grade.

CIT pays a $100 registration fee.

CIT can volunteer for as many weeks as they want for the $100 registration fee. (weeks must be approved by the Program Director, under 2021 restrictions we will only be allowed up to 6-8 CITs per week)

CIT will help in the cabins, in the dish room and dining hall, with snack distribution, with activities, Bible studies and worship as well as camp turn arounds.

 

 Serving as CIT allows our summer staff to more effectively invest in our camps, and allows our full time staff evaluate CITs for future employment as summer staff.
